Curious any to buy or avoid. Thank you

Also its nice when manufacturers take the time and thought to make things less error prone. Although I cant say the previous tech knew as much as he should have.

Should have taken a photo. The washer was crushed so much it was biting into the threads.

Do you want the jack pad for lifting on pinch welds?

It’s hard to screw up a solid rubber puck with grooves cut into it, any should work well enough. I actually use a bog standard hockey puck with mine (I use other jack points besides pinch welds though).

I just use whatever. I had this to use on the pinch welds of my S40:

Seemed fine, but is more expensive now.

More recently I got these to use with my S60 :

Not as big and deformed a bit more than I’d like (though that might be my fault, the S60 doesn’t actually have pinch welds, but I sawed an expanded channel to fit the factory jack points which have a more triangular profile).

I always just use a hockey puck. I haven't had a problem without the groove.

I made one out of a hockey puck by cutting a slot into it. Worked perfectly until I misplaced it. I n eed to make a new one.

I use a 2x4 about 10" long with a groove cut into it from a table saw about 1/4" wide and 1/2" deep.

I just avoid jacking on the pinch welds. Sure would make my life easier to do so though! I tend to Jack up on the control arms. And for the rear on the miata I go on the diff to get both sides up at once. Crushed the punch welds on the other miata like a doofus haha.

I have nothing to add except, thank you for posting cleaned up Amazon links, it’s a pet peeve of mine when people post ALL the extra tracking garbage on a URL .

Hockey pucks, and if you want to get fancy, you can cut a slot in them too.  Super cheap and say to come by here in MI.
